About Crowd Network
We are an ambitious start-up podcast network based in Manchester that specialises in unforgettable stories and personalities. Using the best presenters, producers and writers, we create conversations you have to share.
Podcasts become communities when listeners feel they belong. We make ground-breaking audio that makes people feel part of something bigger than themselves.
We are always looking for new talent to join our crowd. We are welcoming, inclusive and collaborative.
About the role
This is a brilliant opportunity for a skilled, creative writer who can write show-stopping scripts across a variety of topics.
As a freelance writer for Crowd, you will write the scripts for two of Crowd’s biggest shows – Death of a Sports Star and Death of a Rock Star.
We’re really proud of our Death of a Sports Star and Death of a Rock Star strands. But we need more writers who can pull them off. We’ll work with you on them, brain-storm and finesse with you. But we need your magic, your ideas, your sweet writing tricks.
Crowd’s Creative Director
Qualifications and Expertise
This is a highly skilled role for an experienced script writer with minimum three years experience.
The job might be right for you if…
You’re an experienced writer who understands and loves sport or music, or can grasp an entirely new topic quickly and make it unforgettable.
You can identify the big themes behind stories, the fascinating facts that others might miss, the narrative arc that will carry listeners through a half-hour podcast.
You love telling stories. These scripts will be performed. You’re writing for the story around the campfire, not the lecture theatre or the printed page.
You can make listeners care about characters and worlds they have never cared about before.
You can write to deadline and produce clean copy that editors can trust.
Standing out from the crowd
Above all else you have to show us you have the right attitude. In a start-up environment you will have to leave your ego at the door. No problem is too small and no project is too big. You will create standout content and be a trailblazer in the industry.
